Another one for NPR about ACE testing. In the 1990’s, the CDC created a test called the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) test. It’s a series of questions that has been deemed a “magical screening tool” as far as predicting potential health issues in patients. But why don’t doctors use it? The answer seems to be that asking these questions may unleash something bigger than expected.

I have started illustrating a column for St. Louis magazine. Here is the first one. Missouri does not want to increase the taxes on cigarettes, which wastes taxpayers money and only benefits smokers.
